Over this busy summer, we have hit my most recent Patreon goal – for the GIANT PRINTER (thank you ALL so much, I have been wanting this for years, I can’t believe I’m finally going to get one). Of course we already have many big printers, but this giant printer will really be a game-changer for us. It’s huge – the printer itself is bigger than my couch, lol. We have spoken to the company we can order it through, and they will be getting one in for us in the next few weeks. We then have to arrange for a time when we know we’ll be home in Florida in order to be here to accept the delivery – it has to come on a special truck and requires additional transportation & installation that requires us to be here in person to supervise, so I’m guessing it will be early this autumn once we get it up & running. We’ll then be able to offer even larger canvases, 48″ Masterpiece Editions, and some other fun stuff (in addition to fine art giclees it can work on other materials….). I will keep you all posted – thank you again so much, we could not have done this without you =) =)
So now I got a prompt from Patreon reminding me I need to make a *new* goal, lol. Patreon is great at keeping me on track and looking forward =)
We had a meeting to decide what the next goal should be. I try to keep things professional here, so it needs to pertain to expanding and bettering my business & artwork of course. Previous official goals we’ve had at Patreon have been:
*Jasmine’s giant easel (which has let me paint much larger paintings!)
*Shipping/printing office (which has let us move a lot of our work stuff & printers & packing & framing stuff out of my living room and into a proper building)
*Matt’s fulltime assistant (Sarah Chayre-Guapo, our new fulltime employee helping pack & ship orders, delivering artwork to galleries, etc.)
*Twitch setup (which made it possible for us to get all the equipment and cameras needed to broadcast my twice-weekly painting sessions live on Twitch – ps I’ll be broadcasting this Thursday, August 9 at 4PM EST 21:00 UK time – http://www.twitch.tv/jasminebecketgriffith 😉 )
And now for my next goal: New Strangeling Vinyl! My first Strangeling Vinyl doll, “Alice in the Starry Night” has been a great hit (you can see her here – http://www.strangeling.com/shop/strangeling-vinyl-dolls/alice-starry-night-strangeling-vinyl-doll/ )
I want to create another one, and eventually a whole series – but getting these made on such a large scale costs me a great deal up front. The injection molds alone run about $5,000-$6,000, before I can even get started. Then of course is the actual material & labor costs, hand painting, custom boxes, shipping, etc. etc. etc. With one or two months at the 10K goal, I can take the extra few thousand increase from Patreon and funnel it directly into getting brand new molds made. To make things extra special and as a “thank you” for my Patrons, we’re going to make a “variant” on the new mold that is painted completely different from the regular series – it will be a Patreon Exclusive and will only be for purchase on the Patreon Exclusive Merchandise section of Strangeling.com – only for you Patreon folks (all tiers of course, all Patrons can access my Patreon Exclusive section – so far we have Canvas Cuties up there and soon we’ll be adding more stuff).
I’m very excited for this goal, thank you for all helping make this possible! I have some even more exciting future goals in mind for when we hit this milestone, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself.
