Goodies for the New Year!

Some Happy New Year goodies may await you!!!

Wow, so it’s 2019 already (it seems like I just got used to writing “2018” on everything, ain’t that the way).  I’ve made it “home” to my Florida studio and am settling in for a nice long year of painting =)  And it also means that I am raiding my mysterious cabinet of art goodies to “surprise” you random Patrons out there.  And yes – for those who are wondering – the mysterious cabinet IS actually a real cabinet, lol, it’s a large wardrobe in which I keep stuff like color proofs, sample merchandise, test prints, weird one-off things I get from companies that license my work and I’m not sure what to do with, etc.

Since it’s a New Year I thought some CALENDARS should be a good gift for some of ya!

Also too – I have dusted (pixie-dusted?) off my personal Color Proof of the now-retired “Tinker Bell at Skull Rock” from the Walt Disney Company, and will be autographing all of the above and surprising some of you Patrons randomly with these goodies.  I have three Strangeling 2019 Wall Calendars, three Strangeling 2019 Weekly Planners and then of course just one of the “Tinker Bell at Skull Rock” color proofs (as there is only one, it’s the one Disney sends me as the artist to approve that the printing color proofs match my original painting).

So next Monday, January 7 at around 8PM EST that means SEVEN of you lovely folks will have an extra happy start to your New Year.

You can also buy the calendars/weekly planners at bookshops and online retailers (and Calendars.com and Brushdance.com the publishers, etc.) too if you don’t want to tempt fate 😉  2019 is going to pass quickly and a lot of places are running out of the calendars – such is the nature of a short shelf-life.  But these ones I have here for Patreon Patrons were the samples sent to me by the publishers and will be personally autographed by me, so they are a little more special 😉

“Tinker Bell at Skull Rock” is a painting I did four years ago for the Walt Disney Company.  She is a painting that appeared in Disney’s various galleries, themeparks & stores on art prints and assorted licensed merchandise.  The original painting herself sold at their WonderGround Gallery in Anaheim.  Typically when I do a painting for Disney, they keep that specific in print & on merchandise for around 2-5 years, and this lovely Tink has (I think, lol, it’s hard to keep track) since been retired.  Which means now she is very hard to find (of course she is a pixie and can change size and turn into a mote of light if she wants, so she’s pretty wily to begin with).

But I still have my “Color Proof” of her, and as I would love to find a home for her, I figured one of you Patrons would enjoy the surprise 😉

What’s a color proof?  Basically when I do a painting for the Walt Disney Company, after the painting has been scanned in, etc. they FedEx me this “color proof” that their printing department has  printed onto on a sheet of canvas.  This is for me personally to look at, to see if their printing inks are the right colors, etc. to match my original acrylic painting.  It’s the first time I see a printed version of the painting, it comes on a sheet of canvas marked “color proof” and it is not a product that is sold in stores, it’s for my own personal internal use to check the colors.  The printed image  is approximately 8″x10″ roughly cut from a larger sheet of canvas by the Disney printers measuring a few inches more than that.  I will autograph her also in metallic ink on the front image just to make it more special =)

Since I cannot sell this piece (and neither can you, it is marked NFS Not For Re-Sale on the back) it is a very unique item.  Rather than having her wait around lonesome in my studio closet, I thought I would re-home her via Patreon as a unique Jasmine collectible and a piece of Disney art history to some lucky Patron out there!  You could totally mat & frame her and she’d look just like one of the fancy canvas prints, very lovely 😉

I’ll be sure to let you all know on Monday who should be expecting the extra goodies, and we will also contact you privately to confirm your addresses & contact info!

Thank you all so much for your support as always, I could not do what I do without you.  Let’s make 2019 waaaaay better than 2018.

PS – for some even more goodies – TWITCH PEOPLE – I’ll be up at Twitch this Sunday, January 6 starting at 3PM EST (that’s Noon Pacific Time, 20:00 UK Time) here – http://www.twitch.tv/jasminebecketgriffith – set your timers/alerts/phones/calendars/etc. and join us – all are welcome, Twitch is FREE.  You can just lurk and watch privately or you can join (again, it’s FREE) if you’d like to chat/ask questions/etc.  I’ll have my easel cam & paintchair cam set up and Matt will be hosting the chat, we keep it PG rated so families are welcome and we have fun talking about art and everything else under the sun while I paint at my desk.  You can always catch up on old broadcasts on my YouTube too – http://www.youtube.com/jasminebecket to see archives of older sessions and see some of my paintings come to life =)

PPS – Coloring page people – next up is “Monarch” (I thought she’d be an extra fun one to color in) – I will be posting new lineart & grayscale for her shortly, so stay tuned.  I’m also sorting through some pieces I’ll be uploading as an additional “grayscale” pack for digital downloads.  As far as printed coloring books go, the lineart for my new “Alice in Wonderland” coloring book is just about finished (published by Blue Angel Publishing, same size & format as my previous books) so I’ll be keeping you posted on that!

PPPS – I’ve just previewed the concept art for the “Alice in a Dali Dream” pin who will be the Pop Gallery Tent Exclusive pin for sale at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts – posted her up at the Strangeling Pins Group on Facebook here – http://www.facebook.com/groups/strangelingpins  .  For those of you who are in the Pin Collector Tier we’ll be sending out the new glittery “Oaken Mead” pins in about a week or so (gotta pack them all up and label them, they turned out lovely!).  Also in pin news – it’s getting to be right about time  for a NEW Patreon Pin and we’ll be having a poll/vote on that one, so it’s going to be a very exciting time for pin stuff shortly!

PPPPS – (wow this year is already proving to be busy) – for my Disney fans out there – the next three Disney paintings/prints will be released this January 18 starting at the Epcot International Festival of the Arts over at Disney’s WonderGround Gallery Tent.  “Cruella,” “Princess Tiana,” and “Cinderella Leaving the Ball” will all debut firstly at the WonderGround tent located at Epcot during the festival.  After the festival those three new pieces will be available as prints/canvases/paintings/postcards (and probably some other merchandise) at Disney Springs WonderGround Gallery, various other locations at Walt Disney World in Florida, and also the WonderGround Gallery in Anaheim, CA at Disneyland.  Anaheim folks I’m coming to see you March 8-9th for autographing and they should have the new pieces there by then =)  Details on these and other upcoming events are found as always at my Events page here:  http://www.facebook.com/strangeling/events

XOXO and….. back to painting!
