Here’s a sneak peek of some of the WIPS for some of the new mini original paintings that I’ve been working on over the past weeks. PSST – my website administrator has upgraded our shopping cart WooCommerce software at Strangeling with a new “inventory control” plugin, which should theoretically have fixed the problem we had last week where multiple buyers could check out simultaneously with the same painting (argh!) – if you were one of the Patrons who had to get a refund since your shopping cart let you purchase a “sold” painting, we have already contacted you with a private preview and a “first dibs” chance at this current batch, so several of these are probably already spoken for, but we’ll have a bunch more popping up tonight and a bunch more soon once I get to my KC studio!
Each of these miniatures are actual original acrylic paintings on masonite (not prints or giclees of any kind, actual full handpainted paintings!) and measure around 2.5″-3.5″ in size and will be beautifully framed. We typically only offer these at galleries or live events (where they tend to sell out in the first couple minutes) but as we have received a lot of requests worldwide from folks who can’t always come to live events, we’ve been trying to figure out a way to make them available online.
As I am just one person, I couldn’t possibly paint enough of these to keep up with demand, so that is why we are making it part of the Patreon-only shopping area (if it was the general public, it’d just get too crazy). Again, it is for all tiers of Patreon members, even the $1 subscription level = it’s more a way of limiting the number of potential viewers/customers as opposed to a subscription based monetary thing, if that makes sense.
Also too – if you happen to be a 10+ level Patreon Patron, that means during checkout you can use your 10% off discount code – this will give you an extra 10% off (since the mini framed originals are priced at $595 that means you’ll save about $60!! – it’s worth it even if you ever just buy one).
As always, when starting a new system/process, there may be hiccups or weirdness in the beginning. Please bear with us, we are a small family company consisting of just a few people and we are doing our best.
If this works out well, I plan to offer up mini paintings periodically in the Patron shopping area (optimally a couple times a month, but of course that depends on my painting schedule, gallery/commission schedule and travel/studio schedules), and I’ll do my best to keep you Patrons updated!
