DragonCon news – YAY! We have our booth number and stuff!

Finally! =)

Map is below showing where the Strangeling booth is located – in the AmericasMart building Floor 3 Exhibit – it’s a BIG booth encompassing all booth numbers:  3318, 3320,3322 (Atlanta, Georgia, DragonCon USA).  Also DragonCon has maps and such on their site, I found a PDF that goes right to Floor 3 of the AmericasMart DragonCon floorplan here as an online or downloadable file:  https://www.dragoncon.org/wp-content/uploads/PDF/DC2109_AmerMt_2WW_L3-L6860891_FP.pdf

YES DragonCon does have strict public safety requirements for attendees and guests/vendors alike.  Please, y’all.  Please don’t yell at us about their rules or their county’s rules.  And really too, don’t yell at DragonCon.  None of us know what the heck is going on most of the time, and so many of the people are volunteers or doing their best to work under many hardships.  Updates on DragonCon’s health and safety guidelines and any other updates regarding changes to regulations or in the (unlikely) event of cancellations, etc. that will all be posted by the DragonCon staff on their website here:

https://www.dragoncon.org/updates/

The Strangeling Booth will be open all day every day the hall is open, we’ll of course have the pin giveaways free with any purchase at our booth, first come-first served at opening, one per head, we do recommend coming early as they are limited.  I haven’t heard the specifics on which day we’ll have which pin – it’s funny – Matty, Sonya and Jenn are having a team meeting about pins & such right as I type this, lol, so we’ll be figuring out shortly which of the DragonCon Exclusive Pins will be given away on which day.  We have 200 of each of the three designs (Dragon Logo Dragonling, Anglerfish Submarine, Valkyrie) to hand out, so one of the designs (as per usual) will be divided up between the first and last days of the convention.

We ENCOURAGE pin trading and the like, following within whatever DragonCon’s current distancing and public safety gudelines require.  The Strangeling Team typically has lanyards to trade with too – if you see a Strangeling staff member (most likely Matty, me, or Brandon) with Strangeling Pins on their lanyard, please feel free to approach them for any pin trade.  If we have a pin, we will trade it for ANY Strangeling Pin, regardless of rarity or perceived value, we always trade 1:1 with our pins.  Sometimes the live events make for an interesting mix, sometimes we end up with a zillion of the same pin, lol, but it’s always pretty fun!

I will be there in person to sign autographs at select times (TBD, we’ll let ya know!).  I haven’t booked my travel yet and we’re trying to figure out what airport I’ll be leaving from and all that >__<  but I should be there each day for autographing!  I usually come in the afternoon so that anybody lining up for pins or earlybird shoppers will have had the opportunity to buy their stuff or check out, and that way if we have a line of folks wanting autographs we will have room to space everybody out accordingly.  I will do my best to autograph anything folks bring, and we can take photos (yay!) in the AmericasMart building.  Some autographing time limits and standing space in line may be limited but the autographing session will probably be two or three hours and we will all have to cooperate with the convention center’s distancing when lining up.

NOTE:  Technically this photo is NOT of DragonCon, lol, but it’s from MegaCon from something like FOURTEEN years ago and it gave me a giggle, apparently it’s one of the first photos taken on my iPhone and it is of me and what appears to be my buddies from Paranormal State perusing the WACOM tablet booth.  You can see some of my early statues peeking in on the corner 😉

ANOTHER NOTE:  We are scrambling to figure out our next Twitch schedule, but between our Florida meetings this coming week, California again and the flights & drives to Atlanta in just 12 days, we can’t find a day before DragonCon where we’re all in the same place to broadcast when I’m not working on a Disney piece.  Basically I can’t broadcast my Disney pieces live on Twitch for copyright reasons obviously, and I have a deadline before DragonCon to finish revising two and finishing a third, so my painting time can’t quite be shown publicly at this time (but will be pretty awesome later this year, early next).  After DragonCon we’ll be back on a more regular schedule and back to Twitch, but in the meantime I’ll be posting to my patrons on Lens (get the Patreon App, it’s cool) on my various daily activities, sneak peeks, and behind-the-scenes content.  I’m so happy you have been enjoying the Lens videos, it’s such a fun and easy way for me to show off what I’m up to!

We’ll be keeping you posted, and stay tuned at DragonCon’s official page for further updates.  If the world turns topsy-turvy in the interim and anything is canceled I promise to let you all know within minutes of when I find out.  We understand firsthand how much time, effort and darned cash can go into planning vacations and travel accommodations and how frustrating it can be when external issues leave us uncertain, we appreciate you all so very much.

x
