Next giveaway – Haunted Mansion: “The Bride Returns” TWO signed color proofs on canvas!
Monday, June 5 is the night for my next give away here at Patreon – very special – my Disney artist color proofs on canvas for my “The Bride Returns” – the front painting, and the backside painting! Yes, you get both! Winner will be selected from Patreon via random number generator Monday, June 5 at around 8pm EST. All my Patreon members of all levels will be entered automatically, just be sure your account is in good standing as of June 5 (several of you need to update your CC info!).
What’s a color proof? Basically when I do a painting for the Walt Disney Company, after the painting has been scanned in, etc. they mail me a “color proof” that their print department has printed onto on a sheet of canvas. This is for me personally to look at, to see if their printing inks are the right colors, etc. to match the original painting. It’s the first time I see a printed version of the painting, it comes on a sheet of canvas marked “color proof” and it is not a product that is sold in stores, it’s for my own personal internal use to check the colors. Each printed image 8″x14″ roughly cut into a rectangle with a border of 1-2″. I have also autographed it in silver ink on both just to make them more special =)
Why is there also a back version? It’s because I was commissioned by Disney to paint the full backside of the Bride so that they could create my Vinylmation doll (also called “The Bride Returns”) – they are available through Disney and are adorable. The backside is not sold as a piece of artwork anywhere in the world, so this is very unique.
Since I legally cannot sell this piece (and neither can you, it is marked NFS Not For Re-Sale on the back) it is a very unique item. I’ve had these two rolled up in my art cabinet for awhile. Rather than having them gather dust in my studio closet, I thought I would give them away as unique Jasmine collectibles and a piece of Disney art history to some lucky Patreon member out there! You could totally mat & frame both and they’d look just like the fancy canvas prints, very lovely =)
