So! As some of you may have noticed, we’re getting closer to my next official Patreon Goal ($5446 out of $6000 – you can keep tabs or always upgrade here, lol – http://www.patreon.com/jasminebecketgriffith ) which means that we’re starting to prepare for my upcoming interactive livestreaming paint channel up at Twitch.
We’re adding things slowly as our goal gets closer, so we don’t get hit all at once with expenses and so that when we hit the goal we’ll be able to start soon thereafter!
I was so happy to see one of the new cameras and a neat repositional tripod-holder-thingy waiting for me when we got back from the UK (that’s what is in the photo above).
The plan is to have one camera pointed at me and my easel (so you can see me & see what I’m doing around me, grabbing brushes, paint selection, etc.) and then to have one camera pointed directly at my artwork (still not sure if we’ll have to ceiling-mount that or how to have it hover right over my artwork since I change the angle of my table/easel constantly while I work, and don’t want my head/hair getting in the way, lol). We’ll have two microphones set up – one for me of course, the other for Matt at the computer who will be moderating & reading out the chatroom questions for me to answer while I paint and to help streamline discussions, provide general entertainment, etc.
It will probably take a while to get into the swing of things and to figure out how everything works. It’s been almost 14 years since I shut down my old live streaming webcam (some of you may remember the 24/7 Strangeling PaintCam from the late 1990s early 2000s, which used to run non-stop!) and so much has changed since then. I’m looking forward to this though. This one won’t run 24/7, lol, it will work more like a scheduled show/program, and I’ll keep you Patreon folks posted ahead of time when I’ll be popping on, and we’ll do our best to archive the live shows for you to watch if you miss a show. We are also thinking about doing some live broadcasting from my events, art openings, travels, etc. – we’ll have to feel everything out.
Thank you all so much for your support so far – it makes me so happy to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I know a lot of you have been asking for livestreaming for quite some time now, I’m just glad it is starting to actually come together!
XO
Jasmine
