Almost home!
We leave California tomorrow and get home late tomorrow night / early Monday morning, so I’ll finally get to play catch-up and show you all some exciting new stuff.
Among other things, we got to meet in person with a ton (literally like 1/3 of the staff, lol) of Patreon here in Los Angeles, which was fantastic. In my moderate experience of dealing with corporations (especially those involved with pop culture and/or social media) they were refreshing and ethical and enthusiastic. Social media in general drives me nuts and I just can’t say enough good things about Patreon and the wonderful people who run it (of course if you can read this, you probably agree with me, lol) .
Also pretty cool getting to sit down next to folks like James Higa (!!!!!), Jack Conte, Philip DeFranco, and countless others who listened to my questions and even took notes. Wow!
Tons of exciting meetings at & about Disney, exciting talk about my show at Corey Helford Gallery next summer, all in all a crazily productive week.
I do understand why people in the arts & entertainment industry choose to live in the LA area, but WTF!?! with the traffic here, sitting in a car for so long and not moving drives me nuts, lol. I like towns where I can walk everywhere or take the tube 😉
Got to do some fun stuff too, our good friend Buddy took us to the Magic Castle (if you don’t know what it is, google it, it is awesome), got to go to some good restaurants, went hiking with our friends Michael & Sarah Banks, but mostly got work stuff done. Next time we come out here I want to make a point to throw in at least one or two days that aren’t so work-filled ;P
Looking forward to getting back home and painting and seeing my kitties though! Our cat/house sitter has been very good at sending us constant photo updates at least, lol.
XO
Jasmine
