Apologizing in advance! But there is some good news! I’m just now landing back in the states so I’m forensically looking backwards at a bunch of posts & correspondence >__<
So yes – apparently both the original paintings sold within ten minutes in person at the gallery during the event, most of the prints sold that night too. They did indeed put the remainders up on the Gallery1988.com website the following afternoon around noon Pacific Time – BUT those remaining prints sold literally instantaneously (many folks watching for them to pop up and who were refreshing the page may have seen them for just a few seconds before the SOLD OUT popped up).
I am so sorry they went so quickly, and that there were so few (only 60 total prints were made between the two). The good news is that I here at home still have my Artist Proofs (the two sample prints we had for colour correction purposes) – they are numbered A/P (Artist/Proof, ie, not for sale, not for part of the edition). I have decided that I will be GIVING THESE AWAY for an upcoming Patreon giveaway, open to all Patreon members, probably in early July.
So there will be two lucky folks that will each receive an Artist Proof paper print (I’ll sign them, too) as a prize next month =)
That being said too – I don’t have any available to sell myself, but there are some already popping up on eBay (prices of course are higher, as it’s not available anywhere else now) by other collectors/re-sellers – you might want to bookmark this search link:
to keep an eye out at a chance to buy one secondhand from show attendees/investors. All are signed, they should have the Mattel logo at the bottom white border (yes, I already saw somebody selling some knock-offs/bootlegs, grrr, but my legal guy intervened and got those kicked off right away) – and they will be numbered out of 30.
Hope that helps!
Mattel might be doing a similar show next year again, and on the chance I am invited to participate next time I’ll see if I can get some more Monster High characters assigned (and if so, I’ll remind them of the 30 print sell-out this year, hehe, and maybe for the next ones we can print a good deal more!).
At any rate, I am very happy that you all loved how they turned out – I am still reading through all the emails (mostly sad from folks who missed out, I am sorry again!) – and despite any confusion and crazy demand with ordering I’m just glad that so many of you feel that I was able to do the characters some justice, and that we raised a ton of $$ for the Mattel Children’s Hospital wing at UCLA!!
I’ll keep you posted on the AP giveaway!
XO
Jasmine
