******EDIT: March 24 ******
Thank you all so much for your input!!
After playing around with angles, it looks like we’ll end up doing kind of a halfway between the front view and the side view, lol. Primary reason being (I didn’t realize it, since I don’t watch myself paint) that I pretty much lean all the way forward and my hair covers my entire face and top half from the side while I paint! So, we’ll be kind of going with a 3/4 angle from slightly above, so you can still see my face and hear me talk, but also my arms while I’m working (and some of my paints, my palette, etc.). The good thing is that we bought a large re-positional studio tripod thingy for this particular camera, so it can be moved around as needed too, so I might mix it up a bit or might change things as we try it all out. I will post here at Patreon for the premiere (I’ll give a few days in advance for notice) so it will be you Patrons mostly watching us test it all out =) Things going well, should be later this coming week 😉

Things are moving right along with my Twitch livestreaming setup – should be very soon now! And of course I’ll give you Patreon folks a big head’s up when our initial launch date will be 😉
In the meantime, I have a quick question for YOU guys, since you will be the ones watching!
Above (forgive my terrible photoshop skills) are two possible channel layouts.
Obviously, the focus is on my paintings, so the primary camera (on your left in both pics) will be zoomed in on my actual painting & hands & brush while I work. So that’s the same in both options. I’m not changing that, it’s not the “watch Jasmine act goofy” channel, it’s the “watch Jasmine paint” (and possibly listen to her argue with Matty) channel.
In your upper right, I’m setting up a slideshow of various things (other angles, maybe the frame, references, finished pieces, etc.) associated with the piece. So that’s the same in both options.
But in the lower right hand corner, there is going to be a camera pointed at me, so you can see me and I can chat with you guys, answer questions, or show you things other than the painting’s surface at the time.
Do you prefer the “front view” (Layout #1) – with the camera pointed at me straight on?
Or do you prefer the “side view” (Layout #2) – with the camera pointed at me from the side?
I myself have no preference, as I won’t be watching it myself, lol, I’ll be painting. So I’m leaving it to you guys since it’ll be YOU who are watching. I’m guessing the “front view” (Layout #1) might be better to see me talking and whatever, and since the microphone is in the camera it would be closer to my face and you can see my face in that one, but that “side view” (Layout #2) might be better to see my whole body as far as when I’m grabbing different paints or brushes or whatever.
I can probably change it later if one way doesn’t work out or seems to be getting in the way, but at least for the beginning – if you have a preference, VOTE and let me know now =)
It’s getting exciting!!
X
Jasmine
