Sketching!

Good morning Patrons!

I’ve been sketching!  I don’t usually sketch often as I’m mostly a painter, but sometimes I do little line-art designs like this when I’m working on concepts for new pins or other projects that require “line art” (ie, solid black and solid white, no shading, for the creation of metal molds, die cuts, etc.).

Just wanted to show off this little cutie.  I had an idea for January’s “Pin of the Month” to actually consist of TWO pins – combining a couple of earlier paintings of mine (“Hope and Despair” and “Devilish Fairy”) so that there would be a “good fairy” on one side and a “bad fairy” on the other.  Sort of like the device in old Donald Duck cartoons where he has a little angel on one shoulder that gives him good advice, and a little devil on the other shoulder that gives him bad advice.

So!  This will be the “good fairy”/angel character, and she’ll come with a devilish fairy too.  January will be a very good month for Patreon Pin Collectors, you’ll be getting two brand new pins AND the new Strangeling Lanyard, so if you are thinking about upgrading to the Pin Collector Tier, ’tis a great time to do so 😉

And what am I doing with the lineart shown in the photo?  I’m going to be giving that away up at Twitch TOMORROW (Thursday, 4-7PM Eastern Time) during my broadcast.  Twitch is completely free, you are all welcome – https://www.twitch.tv/jasminebecketgriffith – set your phone reminders or write it on your calendar & join us!

Speaking of sketches, drawings, etc. – I have quite a few, some more finished and nicer looking than others, lol.  We are working right now to sort through a bunch of that stuff (a sort of end-of-the-year cleaning/planning for the coming year) and will be setting up a new section of the Patreon Exclusive shopping area at my Strangeling website.  Our plan is to periodically offer sketches, drawings & production artwork for sale up in the Patreon shopping area of the site starting in January.  I don’t really sell that stuff usually, but we’ve gotten a lot of interest from collectors over the years asking if they could purchase drawings/sketches so I thought that’d be a great thing to stick in the Patreon shopping area to make things a little more special and to make sure they’ll go to people who will genuinely appreciate them (like I do with my mini paintings, Canvas Cuties, etc.).

Stay tuned!

x

Jasmine
