Snowflake Fairy is the December Pin of the Month, other stuff about pins =)

She’s all finished and WOW she turned out so cute.  Very proud of this one =)  Not that it’s especially “snowy” here in Florida, lol, but some places are getting it now ;P

“Snowflake Fairy” is going to be our December Pin of the Month!  All the Patreon Pin Collectors will get her automatically shipped out on or around December 10th (not a pin collector?  You can upgrade now – http://www.patreon.com/jasminebecketgriffith  – if you do it today you can still get Wolf Moon AND The Scarecrow and the lanyard shipped immediately, just while it’s still November 😉 )   and then as long as you stay a member you’ll get Snowflake Fairy too in a little over a week 😉  You’ll get a new Pin of the Month each month as well as any additional Patreon Pins we release – awesome deal!

Don’t worry, if you are not a Pin Tier person, “Snowflake Fairy” is an open edition pin so that means December 15th she’ll be put up for sale at Strangeling.com for the public to purchase as well ($12.99).  So everybody can get one of her =)

Speaking of special editions though – you know that “Dumbo Octopus Mermaid” pin we’re giving away at my Pop Gallery Mermaids show on December 9th?  I made a few extras of her in case any are lost/damaged before the show.  If all the 100 for the event are okay, I’ll have a handful of spare ones – I will be giving those away to Patreon Pin Tier Patrons via Random Number Generator after the event 😉  I will keep you posted!

PLEASE do not ask me to sell you a giveaway pin though, I will NOT EVER sell my giveaway pins, they are for giveaways only.  I know I always say this, but I’ve already had ten people try to convince me to sell them a Dumbo Octopus Mermaid pin, lol – please don’t do this, it makes me feel bad, and I love you, and I don’t want you to feel bad too.  It’s just a hard & fast rule I’ve had to make.  When something is a giveaway or a prize, I really want to be fair about it!

Now, if somebody wins one and THEY want to sell it – please feel free!  In fact, we’ve got an official  Strangeling Pins group just for that – here – https://www.facebook.com/groups/strangelingpins  – a wonderful place specifically for trading, buying or selling Strangeling Pins.  If you ever win a pin you don’t want, or end up with a duplicate – or if you WANT a pin like from a UK event and obviously don’t have a way to go in person, it’s a good place to network with other pin collectors to maybe have an internet friend go on your behalf to pick up a spare.  Definitely check it out! =)

Again though, I am not selling anybody the giveaway pins, only the regular open edition and limited edition pins are for sale from me.  They’re meant to be prizes and giveaways, and a neat way that somebody who might not be able to purchase one can get one!  (50% of my “Three Wishes” pins for example were given to small children at the fairy festival who don’t have things like credit cards, etc., hehe! 🙂 )  It is also a way to keep live events and art galleries still viable in a world where Amazon and internet shopping has almost killed them, lol.  Giveaway pins and little special trinkets are a way to help foster local community art scenes, make person-to-person contact, creating a unique experience worth coming to!  Almost like a real-life video game or treasure hunt, I like the idea of having to go into the real world from time to time to get special items.

And of course, I also love the format here at Patreon how I can GIVE at least a few away to those people who physically or socially or economically CAN’T go to live events.  That gives everybody a chance, and making sure everybody has a chance in general is a core part of my world view.

I am so happy that everybody is enjoying the pins and that so many of you feel so strongly about them.  I love designing them and collecting them myself, and it means a lot to me how positive the response has been to them!

Very shortly too I’ll be doing a poll here at Patreon to help decide what the NEXT pin design will be, so stay tuned!  If the pin you choose turns out to be the one that is selected, I will be be picking out FIVE random winners to get the finished pin mailed to them too, should be a blast!

XO
