All righty! You’ve asked for it – you’ve got it! Here are your choices for the upcoming Patreon Exclusive Pin design. You do not need to be a Patreon member to vote, but you won’t get the actual pin unless you’re a Patreon Pin Collector Tier Patron (since it’s an Exclusive to Patreon, lol).
Whichever painting receives the most votes will be the next Patreon Exclusive Pin. We’ll keep the poll open until Sunday afternoon (some time before my Twitch broadcast starts at 3pm EST, I’ll announce it there and here both).
Once this new design is chosen, I’ll begin the painting lineart & enamel choices and I will get the ball rolling! This will be a PATREON EXCLUSIVE pin which means it will not be for sale, it will be sent to all of the Patreon Pin Collector Tier level Patrons automatically along with whatever the current Pin of the Month. Again, these will not be for sale – they will be sent along as the next Patreon Exclusive to all existing and all new Patreon Pin Collector Tier Patrons with valid accounts during the month of the release in their usual package.
We still have several of the current Patreon Exclusive Pin (Strawberry Cupcakes) but we are starting to run low, which means it’s time for me to start work on the next one. Not sure if the switchover will be part of February’s shipment (along with Heart of Nails) or March’s shipment yet (along with whatever the March Pin of the Month will be), it will depend on how many new folks join Patreon and snag the rest of the Cupcakes pins and also when the new pins are completed, packaged & ready-to-go.

These five choices were all suggestions here made by YOU, at Patreon, in person, on Twitch and in the Facebook Strangeling Pins collectors group. I took a look at some of the most frequently requested pin suggestions and using my artist’s eyes I determined which five would work the best as metal enamel pins. There are lot of factors – which paintings would still look recognizable with only 6-7 colours, which paintings rely more on shape & form as opposed to shading/gradation of tone (not possible in enamel pins), which paintings have a distinctive external silhouette (or could be cropped or altered to do so), which potential designs would go well aesthetically with the other existing Strangeling pins, and so forth.
Also too – don’t worry if your design isn’t selected! Since these are all paintings I think would make great pins and seem to be popular choices, I might end up choosing these pictures as options for other pin designs later down the road, maybe as Pins of the Month or Event Exclusives or maybe additional Patreon Pins.
